SLU- PP- 32
SLU-PP-332 is a small-molecule agonist of estrogen-related receptors (ERRa and ERRy), nuclear receptors that regulate mitochondrial biogenesis, fatty acid oxidation, and energy expenditure. Research has demonstrated that SLU-PP-332 can activate molecular adaptations associated with aerobic exercise, making it of significant interest in metabolism and longevity research.
Mechanism of Action
• Activates ERRa and ERRy, upregulating genes involved in oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid beta-oxidation, and mitochondrial biogenesis in preclinical models.
• Increases expression of PGC-1a co-activators, promoting mitochondrial density in skeletal and cardiac muscle tissue.
• Studies show stimulation of fast-to-slow fiber type switching in skeletal muscle, improving oxidative capacity.
• Investigated for enhancement of fatty acid utilization as an energy substrate in metabolic research.
Research Areas
• Metabolic disease research including obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes models.
• Exercise mimetic biology in sarcopenia and mitochondrial decline studies.
• Cardiac and skeletal muscle bioenergetics research.
• Longevity research targeting mitochondrial function and metabolic efficiency.
